Austen Itch

~ for the itch only Jane can soothe ~

I'm currently re-reading Pride and Prejudice and so pleased to find many nuggets of additional information that are not in the excellent BBC film version. It's been a very long time since I've read the book, but much more frequently and recently that I've seen the film. What a pleasure to find more detail. I wonder how it will change the story for me again overall. Does anyone have any additional insight they gained from this same comparison?

I thought I added a comment Saturday. I guess I clicked the wrong button. Anyway, Several blog writers have been rereading, or planning ot reread, their favorite books and see if their growth and age now makes a difference in enjoyment. I know reading Jane Eyre gets a little harder every time I dive in. I'm not sure why. But, I enjoy more and more the ending with Jane and Fairfax married with children and his regaining some of his sight. The early parts are still a dead bore.

Anyway, Kimberly, make sure you post your impressions and let us know how P&P stands up to your test of time.
